An eagerness to help others and a refusal to let barriers slow her down were the overwhelming themes of Nancy Langton's life.
The 80-year-old lost her battle with ovarian cancer on April 28 but continued
to defy the odds and inspire others right to the end.
As her daughter Jenny Langton told the Bay of Plenty Times, Nancy was a woman who refused to be put in a box.
Just months ago, in February, Nancy achieved an incredible feat.

Thanks to 13,000 bolts the new water reservoir in Frimley is slowly rising, part of an $82 million upgrade.
Currently, the reservoir is the highest-profile part of Hastings' new water infrastructure and will hold eight million litres of treated water.
Work has started on the corner of Southampton St West and Hastings St South in central Hastings, where 10 million litres will be stored.

U.S. manufacturing activity grew at a slower pace in April, restrained by shortages of inputs as rising vaccinations against COVID-19 and massive fiscal stimulus unleashed pent-up demand.
The survey from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) on Monday showed record-long lead times, wide-scale shortages of critical basic materials, rising commodities prices and difficulties in transporting products across industries.

The pandemic, now in its second year, has severely disrupted supply chains. The ISM noted that "companies and suppliers continue to struggle to meet increasing rates of demand due to coronavirus impacts limiting availability of parts and materials." It cautioned that worker absenteeism, short-term shutdowns due to part shortages and difficulties in filling open positions could limit manufacturing's growth potential.

Some sectors in Singapore's economy expected to see slower growth

In particular, the travel-related sector has not shown much indication of a revival. - ST
SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): While Singapore's economy has been recovering smartly, bolstered by robust trade-related industries like manufacturing, some sectors remain lacklustre and others could see slower growth in the months ahead.
In particular, the travel-related sector has not shown much indication of a revival, with the air transport segment remaining muted and hotel occupancy in Singapore falling after the year-end demand surge, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) noted in its macroeconomic review released on Wednesday (April 28).
The growth momentum for some modern services sectors - one of the early drivers of economic recovery last year - could moderate in the coming quarters.

In 2014, mathematician Jordan Ellenberg examined the distribution of highlighted passages within Amazon Kindle books as an unscientific measure of how far the average reader gets through each book before throwing in
the towel. If the "popular highlights" are clustered densely near the start of a book, that's (arguably) a sign that many readers abandon the book before reading much farther.

Known for some of the most critically acclaimed Tamil & Telugu movies, actress Rakulpreet Singh took the driver's seat (quite literally) on the sets of Sardar ka Grandson, an upcoming Netflix family drama. A quirky comedy revolving around a relationship between Amreek Singh played by Arjun Kapoor and Neena Gupta who plays ‘Sardar’ Rupinder Kaur, his aging grandmother whose idiosyncratic behaviour drives everyone crazy. Rakul who plays the character of Radha is a sensible, quiet girl who is tired of Amreek's shortcomings.
The dramedy is a sweet tale where petty egos, enmity, borders, and oceans of red tape are all finally defeated by the simple tenacity of one determined man. Carrying the weight of Gently Gently on her shoulders Rakulpreet leads from behind in this beautiful family drama. Talking about her experience on the sets of
