You aren t the only one feeling like you re giving more than you re getting from your employer – a chunk of Microsofties are of the same opinion.
A leaked employee survey seen by Business Insider gives an insight into what it is like to toil within the walls of Redmond.
Microsoft itself did not wish to comment on the poll, it being leaked and all, but the company conducts such surveys annually.
In this case nearly 132,000 out of a total of 149,000 staffers responded to the MS Poll , and while many seemed generally happy with how things were going on the inclusion and work group health front, categories such as performance and deal scored 66 and 73 per cent favourable responses respectively. According to BI, deal appeared to include a question along the lines of I ha ....

Microsoft has won a contract which could be worth US$21.88 billion (A$28.58 billion) with the US Army to supply 120,000 custom HoloLens augmented reality headsets that will help soldiers who are at war.
Prototypes of the Integrated Visual Augmented System were supplied to the army under a US$480 million deal signed in 2018. The new contract involves the supply of devices that can be used in the field.
The IVAS headset, based on HoloLens and augmented by Microsoft Azure cloud services, delivers a platform that will keep soldiers safer and make them more effective, Alex Kipman, a Microsoft technical fellow and the person who introduced the HoloLens in 2015, wrote in ....

Gamasutra - Controversial Hololens military deal moves into production phase at $22B

Controversial Hololens military deal moves into production phase at $22B
Once demoed as augmented reality hardware for use with video games like
Minecraft, Microsoft is moving forward with a $22 billion Hololens deal with the U.S. Army that will put the militarized version of the headset into production.
While Hololens wasn t made exclusively for video game applications, when introduced in 2015 it was marketed as productivity and entertainment hardware, with its first concept demo showing holographic calendars in the kitchen, a virtual screen for Netflix, and a holographic
Minecraft landscape that would be superimposed across one s living room.
That s a stark contrast to its application in war. A Reuters report said a deal that would have Microsoft selling Hololens headsets to the U.S. Army along with Azure cloud support may be worth $21.88 billion over a decade. ....

Microsoft wins contract with US Army to develop augmented reality for the battlefield

Over the past two years, Microsoft has worked with the US Army on the prototyping phase of what is called the Integrated Visual Augmentation System, or IVAS. The company said the US Army had moved into the production phase of the project.
In a blog post, Microsoft technical fellow Alex Kipman said the headsets are designed to deliver enhanced situational awareness, enabling information sharing and decision-making in a variety of scenarios .
The headsets will be manufactured in the US, according to the Microsoft spokesman.
This is not the first time Microsoft has worked with military to develop AR capabilities.
In 2019, the British Army began trialling HoloLens 2 headsets with 1,500 military personnel to help frontline medics carry out operations in war zones. The devices are programmed to send instructions to those providing emergency medical treatment on the ground from specialists anywhere in the world. ....
