We’re back at Nonnatus House for the 10th series of this sedate BBC drama staple, now reaching 1966. A momentous year for more than just English football, we open with Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter) deciding whether a nearby private clinic might help keep Nonnatus House afloat, while the birth of a baby boy with no legs below the knees leads Dr Turner (Stephen McGann) to worry that this could be another Thalidomide case. And Sister Monica Joan (Judy Parfitt) continues to reckon with her crisis of faith.

The Call the Midwife Christmas special is highly anticipated every year, and fans were thrilled the hear a special episode will air amid the coronavirus pandemic. The 90-minute episode will air on BBC One, and fans are keen to find out what old and new faces will be returning. Call The Midwifefans can expect a Christmas special that's "a little bit different" this year, two of its stars have promised.
Actor Stephen McGann, who plays Dr Patrick Turner, and Jenny Agutter, who plays Sister Julienne, dropped in for a video chat on
This Morning with hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford to discuss the upcoming festive special episode for the BBC drama.
"It's been amazing – this is our ninth one and every year that we do them we never expect it to become a staple," McGann said. "You never dream or imagine that you're going to have that privilege and that duty, too, to be something that people turn to on Christmas Day.
