Chadlington pub to be revitalised by local brewery boss


The Tite Inn has been bought by local brewery company Oxfordshire Inns Limited.
They plan to extend the currently limited opening hours, improve the internal layout and equipment and add an outdoor cooking area.
They will also introduce music and comedy events to the pub’s calendar.
Their management team includes Jason Chipchase who is owner and CEO of Chadlington Brewery which has supplied the pub for many years.
The 17th century village pub, which was derelict 10 years ago, has immaculate gardens and a chocolate-box setting.
It won Camra’s North Oxfordshire Pub of the Year in 2005.
It also became well known for hosting eccentric events such as Easter egg rolling (including a Dads category where contraptions such as rockets and trebuchets were used to launch eggs), very adult pantomimes, annual charity bike rides and The Great Brook Run, which The Tite still hosts annually. ....

Research links interstitial lung disease to air pollution, diabetes


People with prediabetes or diabetes who live in ozone-polluted areas may have an increased risk for an irreversible disease with a high mortality rate. A new study recently published in the Environmental Health Perspectives connects insulin resistance and repetitive ozone exposure to the development of interstitial lung disease.
“Our findings are especially important today as we’re in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, where we have great concern regarding the convergence of health effects from air pollution and SARS-CoV-2 in susceptible populations like people with diabetes,” said James Wagner, lead author and associate professor for the MSU [Michigan State University] College of Veterinary Medicine’s Department of Pathobiology and Diagnostic Investigation. ....
