The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has delayed the launch of its $8 billion Hubble space telescope successor, James Webb Space Telescope.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by NASA after analysing the remaining tasks for the highly complex space observatory. NASA administrator Robert Lightfoot said, “Webb is the highest priority project for the agency s Science Mission Directorate, and the largest international space science project in US history.” ....

Jody Singer, director of Marshall Space Flight Center, joined four past Marshall directors for a keynote panel discussion as part of Downtown Huntsville Inc.âs annual meeting and awards ceremony, held virtually Jan. 22. After NASA’s chief Jim Bridenstine’s resigned yesterday (Jan. 20), President Joe Biden’s administration has appointed Steve Jurczyk to serve as acting administrator until the role is permanently filled.
Jurczyk has been the agency’s associate administrator since May 2018, according to his NASA biography; all told, he has worked at NASA since 1988. Jurczyk is one of 34 acting leaders announced by Biden and his vice president, Kamala Harris, hours after their inauguration. ....
