Lieu says he drafted the articles of impeachment with other congressmembers during lockdown.
MALIBU, CA Congressman Ted Lieu, who represents Malibu and an L-shaped district along the coast to Palos Verdes and much of the Santa Monica Mountains, announced last week that he drafted Articles of Impeachment against President Trump.
Lieu, who has represented California s 33rd District since 2014 and was handily re-elected in November, drafted articles with Rhode Island Representative David Cicilline and Maryland Representative Raskin. The articles were introduced Monday, and as of Tuesday had attracted 217 sponsors, according to a tweet by Cicilline. ....

This week, President Trump could become the first president in United States history to be impeached twice after House Democrats on Monday filed impeachment charges against him for the second time in a little more than a year.

Democrats say the House of Representatives will consider the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Wednesday, one week after an angry mob of his supporters invaded the Capitol building in Washington DC.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer told Democrats on a call that members should plan to return to Washington on Tuesday evening to consider a House resolution calling on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke constitutional authority to remove Mr Trump from office.
