New Community 50/50 to pinch hit for four non-profits

The Lloydminster Community 50/50 is up and running and four local non-profits will be cashing in.
As residents get a shot at some extra cash, the new 50/50 lottery will offer an extra monthly money flow for Border City Connects, Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, The Olive Tree and Lloydminster Rescue Squad.
Deputy Chief Ryan Leblanc with the Lloydminster Rescue Squad says they are seeing increased demand for their services at this time.
“With lots of people staying at home and at the lakes, it has increased our call volumes. So with that comes a little bit more expense. It’s going to be nice just to keep us on the road and offer some cash flow for us that we can utilize to assist the community.” ....

Annual Muck Run bites the COVID dust

The annual spring fundraiser, the Muck Run will not be a go this year due to the restrictions surrounding COVID-19.
Lloydminster and area residents will have to forego the yearly spring crawl in the muck while raising funds for a good cause and will look for other ways to pitch in.
Over the last several years, the Muck Run has raised over $100,000 for healthcare in the community.
CEO of the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, Malcolm Radke says with the COVID-19 restrictions they decided to cancel it outright as they will look to other options along the lines of the Radiothon they held last Christmas. ....
