Readers’ festive plans in tatters thanks to new Covid Christmas rules Christmas plans are in tatters for hundreds of people across north Essex after the Government U-turned on arrangements due to rising infection rates. Coupled with the new Tier 4 restrictions in much of Essex meaning people cannot mix no matter what, even on Christmas Day, and cannot leave the area - means many people have had their festive plans thrown into disarray.
