‘Eddy’s World’ Documents the Inspirational Story of a Legendary Toymaker
The chattering wind-up Yakity Yak teeth that made you giggle as a kid and iconic playthings like Stompers, KerPlunk, Baby Beans, Bubble Gun, Shark Attack! and over 800 other iconic toys all come from the very inventive mind of one man: Eddy Goldfarb, now the subject of the short documentary “Eddy’s World.” Lovingly made by his daughter, Lyn Goldfarb, an Oscar nominee for “With Babies and Banners,” the film is a tribute to the nonagenarian inventor’s creativity, optimism, vibrancy and longevity.
“As a documentary filmmaker I’ve always looked for interesting stories and people who have changed the world around them. Film based on an infamous school poisoning in India
 “BITTU” is a film about the close friendship between two girls which is eclipsed by an accidental poisoning at school.
In 2013, at least 23 students died, and dozens more fell ill at a primary school in India after eating lunch contaminated with pesticide. The incident was a moment of mundane carelessness that resulted in horrific consequences. Karishma Dev Dube’s “BITTU” was shot in the foothills of the Himalayas and is based on this tragic event. This important film recently won a Student Academy Award.
BITTU has also been screened at The Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival (Canada). ....

The inventor of more than eight hundred toys on why making playthings is a noble profession.
At the 1949 American Toy Fair, at the Hotel McAlpin, in New York, a twentysomething Navy vet from Chicago named Adolph (Eddy) Goldfarb débuted three of his plastic inventions. One was a drinking-cup-and-straw combo with three animals on its top that would spin as a child sipped—the Merry-Go-Sip. Another was Busy Biddy, an egg-laying chicken that was described, in a subsequent patent filing, as a “toy which is actuated to simulate the actions of a fowl.” (The marketing copy was flashier: “She’s cute. She’s adorable. She’s a winner!”) Both turned into hits for Goldfarb and Marvin Glass, the toy entrepreneur he had partnered with on the products, but it was their third item on display that year which would achieve immortality: a set of chattering plastic teeth, powered by a windup metal motor, sold under the brand name Yakity-Yak. ....
