Fraley Punches Ticket to Eugene, Five Women Advance to Saturday's Quarterfinal Round – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

Thursday's Results JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Veronica Fraley was the first Tiger to punch their ticket to the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships after improving her No. 2 all-time mark at Clemson in the women’s shot put. During this evening’s individual events on the track, five Tigers advanced from Thursday’s first round of competition. Fraley put together a historic three-throw series during Thursday’s shot put competition to secure her first career appearance at an NCAA Outdoor Championship meet. Fraley, who celebrated her birthday today, threw 16.59 meters (54 feet, 5.25 inches) to set a new personal best and No. 2 all-time mark at Clemson on her third and final throw of the competition. After entering the weekend with a best of 16.46m from this year’s ACC Outdoor Championships, Fraley went 16.32m-16.52m-16.59m to finish eleventh overall on Thursday.  Trishauna Hemmings ran the seventh-fastest time in Clemson history for the 100-meter hurdles after crossin ....

Track & Field Travels to Jacksonville for NCAA East Region Prelims

Meet Central CLEMSON, S.C. The Clemson track and field program is set to start its journey towards the NCAA Outdoor Championships this week as the program competes at the NCAA East Region Prelims from May 26-29 on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. The four-day meet brings together the top 48 individuals and top 24 relays for each event to determine qualifiers for the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships. This week’s action in Jacksonville will see the men compete on Wednesday and Friday, and the women compete on Thursday and Saturday. The top 24 individuals and top 12 relays in each event during this week’s East Region Prelims will advance to Eugene, Ore., to join the qualifiers from the West Region for the NCAA Outdoor Championships from June 9-12 at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon. “We’re represented well across the board and hopefully we can continue to build on this,” said Clemson's Director of Track & Field ....

Clemson's Women Finish Fifth, Men Sixth at 2021 ACC Outdoor Championships – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site


RALEIGH, N.C.  The Clemson track and field program concluded competition at the 2021 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday evening after seeing its women’s team score 69 points to finish in a tie for fifth, and its men’s team score 65 points to finish in sixth. Saturday’s action saw Clemson capture two ACC titles at 800 meters, garner seven first-team All-ACC honors, and collect 12 second-team All-ACC accolades.
Kameron Jones became the best men’s 800m runner in Clemson history after setting a new school record of 1:45.47 en route to winning the event’s final on Saturday. In addition to the new school record, Jones also set a meet record and facility record while becoming the fastest collegiate athlete at the distance this season. The previous meet record stood at 1:46.66 and was held by Virginia’s Paul Ereng following his performance at the 1988 conference championships.
