CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson track and field program is set to compete at UCF’s Knights Invite from April 23-24 at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex in Orlando, Fla. Spectators will be allowed at the meet, but will be required to remain in the bleachers at the track and field stadium. Masks are also required at all times and everyone is encouraged to social distance. Clemson will start its competition on Friday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m. with the women’s 400-meter hurdles and will resume action at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday with the women’s 4x100m relay. ....
Sprinters Lead the Way at USC Open COLUMBIA, S.C. The Clemson Track and Field program picked up 15 top-five finishes, six event victories and a pair of top-ten all-time outdoor marks on Saturday at the USC Open. Senior Marcus Parker took home individual victories in both the 100-meter (10.40), the 200 meter (20.35) and ran the second leg of the winning 4×100 relay to lead the 20th-ranked men. Rebekah Smith (100m), Trishauna Hemmings (100mH) and Leah Disher (800m) won their respective events for the women as well. “This is a good continuation of how the season started,” said Director of Track and Field Mark Elliott. “All-around, we had many good performances and across the board, happy with how we competed today.” ....
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Veronica Fraley had a historic outing on Friday evening during the women’s discus throw and shot put competitions at the 53rd Tennessee Relays, as the junior from Raleigh, N.C., produced a school-record performance in the discus throw and a No. 2 all-time mark in the shot put. The success came following Fraley’s marks of 56.70 meters (186 feet) and 16.30m (53-5.75) in the discus and shot put, respectively. Fraley entered the meet as the No. 2 all-time performer in the discus and No. 3 all-time performer in the shot put, and is now the first athlete in Clemson history to eclipse the 56-meter mark in the women’s discus. Entering Friday’s competition, Fraley’s mark in the discus would have ranked ninth nationally. ....
GAINESVILLE, Fla. A pair of No. 8 all-time performances from Harleigh White and Danielle Sloley in the women’s triple jump and shot put, respectively, proved to be the highlights of Saturday’s action for the Clemson track and field program as the 2021 Florida Relays concluded this afternoon. In total, the Tigers had six top-five finishes during the final day of competition, including one event victory courtesy of Roje Stona in the men’s discus. “[This weekend] gave our kids a good idea of what they can expect at the end of the season,” said Clemson’s Director of Track & Field, Mark Elliott. “There were a lot of teams at the meet that are ranked high nationally, and they are the competition we want to test ourselves against. I was excited that we got to do that.” ....
CLEMSON, S.C. - The Clemson track and field program will welcome its ACC competitors to the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex for the 2021 ACC Indoor Championships from Feb. 25-27. Action is slated to get underway at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, as the 60 meters will be contested as part of the men’s heptathlon. The meet will be broadcast live on ACCNX from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
