Cr Scott Bannan and Jeff McConnell (Scenic Rim) discuss the new bridge A one-lane timber bridge on the boundary of the City of Logan and the Scenic Rim is set to make way for a higher more flood-resistant structure. Teese Bridge, at Veresdale Scrub, will be replaced with a two-lane concrete crossing that will provide a more reliable connection for motorists. The Australian Government has committed $700,000 under the Bridges Renewal Program to this $1.7 million project, with the remainder jointly funded by the Logan City Council and Scenic Rim Regional Council. The works will be carried out by contractor McIlwain Civil Engineering and anticipated to take about five months. ....

A new safe crossing of busy Mount Lindesay Highway is the first step in Logan City Council’s $2 million upgrade of the Jimboomba Town Centre. The new crossing links Ann Street on the eastern side of the highway with Cusack Lane and the Town Centre on the western side. The Jimboomba Safe Crossing utilises the former Beaudesert railway underpass which has been revitalised with pathway decking, railings, lighting and safety cameras. The opening of the Safe Crossing is an outcome from the 2019 Council-run Jimboomba Summit. Economic Development Chair, Deputy Mayor Jon Raven said the Safe Crossing was a much-needed boost for Jimboomba. ....
Sinkhole swallows SUV after water main break in Philadelphia s Logan section WPVI PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) Philadelphia Water Department crews responded to a 12-inch main break in the city s Logan section on Sunday morning. The break happened on the 5500 block of 11th Street, near Einstein Medical Center, and motorists were asked to avoid the area. One unoccupied vehicle was being removed from the impacted area so that repairs can begin, officials said. One residential building was reported without water at 8:30 a.m. Water emergencies should be reported to (215) 685-6300. ....
