Possible 'widespread COVID-19 exposure' reported in Colville

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. Health officials in Northeastern Washington are investigating a potential widespread COVID-19 exposure in the Colville area due to social gatherings and other events.
The Northeast Tri County Health District (NETCHD) said in an update posted to its website on Friday that the events include those held at Dominion Meadows Golf Course in Colville beginning Saturday, May 1. The health district has been working to contact people who have tested positive for COVID-19 to provide their test results and isolation guidance.
Three people have tested positive for COVID-19 so far following events at the golf course but others may have been exposed to the virus, NETCHD Administrator Matt Schanz told KREM s Whitney Ward. ....

Ferry County announced Friday that it has opted to voluntarily move itself back to Phase 2 of reopening effective immediately, ahead of the state announcing larger-scale rollbacks next Tuesday.
According to the Northeast Tri County Health District (NETCHD), the county has “experienced a sharp increase in new COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations” in recent weeks.
“While this move into Phase 2 is difficult, it is also critical to help curve disease transmission rates in the right direction,” NETCDC said in a written release.
As a county with a population under 50,000, it would need to have 100 or fewer total new cases tallied over two weeks and 3 or fewer hospitalizations over the past week in order to remain in Phase 3. NETCHD reports that Ferry County has seen 106 cases since April 12. Over the last week, seven people have needed to be transported to hospitals for COVID-r ....

Ferry County Moves Back To Phase 2 Because Of Outbreak

Ferry County has become the fourth Washington county to move back to Phase 2 in the state’s coronavirus reopening protocol.
The Northeast Tri-County Health District on Friday announced that it has moved Ferry County back a step because of an outbreak, brought upon, at least in part, by two maskless parties at an Eagles’ Lodge in Republic in mid-April.
The health district reports the county has had 106 positive Covid cases since April 12, including seven people who were transported out of the county to be hospitalized. One person infected with the virus has died. The health district reports the hospital in Republic has worked with the state to receive help in medical staffing and other logistics needed to care for the sick. ....

Ferry County goes back to Phase 2 after Republic superspreader event

OLYMPIA, Wash. The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) announced Ferry County, the site of a COVID superspreader event in Republic, has gone back to Phase 2 under the state’s Roadmap to Recovery Plan.
“We are deeply concerned about the rapid growth in disease in Ferry Co. and the strain that has put on their local healthcare system,” DOH said on its Twitter page.
DOH fully supports Northeast Tri County Health District’s to move Ferry County back to Phase 2, effective immediately and ahead of the state’s review cycle.
“We have seen throughout the pandemic how quick action to curtail transmission reduces the impacts of severe disease and protects the healthcare system,” DOH said. “This swift action is necessary protect the community and get Ferry County back on the path towards economic recovery sooner.” ....
