Two CF-18 Hornets wowed and startled Vancouverites on Tuesday afternoon as the fighter jets flew over the city for a training exercise.
The Canadian Armed Forces confirmed in a statement the aircraft flew from Cold Lake, Alta., to Comox, B.C., as a part of routine training with NORAD, the North American Air Defense Command. ....

Dorothy Edmonds, 71, a licensed practical nurse who retired in 2015 from St. Elizabeths Hospital, died Nov. 20 at a nursing home in Clinton, Md. The cause was cancer, said a daughter, Gretna Davis.
Mrs. Edmonds was born Dorothy Seay in Washington and was a lifelong D.C. resident. She served 12 years in the D.C. National Guard. She spent 28 years as a nurse at group homes, medical facilities and, for the last five years of her career, at St. Elizabeths.

Andrew Duymovic, 80, an agricultural economist who spent 25 years with the U.S. Agriculture Department before retiring in 1995, died Nov. 12 at a hospital in Bethesda, Md. The cause was cancer, said a son, Andrew Duymovic. ....
