Department of Education announces 2022 Teacher of the Year finalists By

CHARLESTON, W.Va. The West Virginia Department of Education on Thursday announced the 10 finalists for the 2022 West Virginia Teacher of the Year award.
The finalists were selected among the Teachers of the Year from each school district: Kelly Bryant, a third-grade teacher at Logan Elementary School. Brian Casto, an eighth-grade West Virginia Studies teacher at Milton Middle School. Samantha Coble, a pre-K special education teacher at Keyser Primary School. Claire Jones, a visual arts teacher in Preston County. Christine Lambert, a fourth-grade teacher at Brandwine Elementary School.

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam says schools across the commonwealth should begin offering in-person learning options starting next month.
Last month, Virginia released guidelines for school districts planning to begin offering in-person learning options, emphasizing a focus on younger students and others who have been most adversely affected by virtual learning. Now, school districts have until March 15 to begin the process, in whatever form the district has selected.
