New Colorado COVID-19 Outbreaks Tied to Having Fun


A common ingredient in many of the new COVID-19 outbreaks identified by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is fun. Under current circumstances, having a good time comes at a risk.
The CDPHE considers an entity an outbreak after two or more COVID-19 cases among residents, staffers or other people connected to a specific location are confirmed within a fourteen-day period, or two or more cases of respiratory illness with an onset of symptoms within a fourteen-day period are paired with at least one additional COVID-19 diagnosis. The vast majority of businesses and facilities identified as outbreaks remain open while working with the department to monitor symptoms and prevent future infections. ....

LAFAYETTE, Ind. The number of deaths to COVID-19 in Tippecanoe County rose by one Wednesday, according to the Indiana State Department of Health virus dashboard, back to the 205 total the county had maintained for days.
The county s death toll had dropped to 204 Monday, which can happen, the Tippecanoe County Health Department said, when an individual was found to have resided in another county when the investigation into the death continued.  ....

As if Andrew Cuomo’s policies didn’t have a high enough body count. New York’s embattled governor ordered facilities housing the developmentally disabled to admit COVID-19 patients too, mirroring the policy he ordered for nursing homes. Unlike the latter, however, Cuomo never rescinded this policy and it might have resulted in hundreds of deaths in those facilities:
