Eligible veterans can go straight to FHP or American Medical Clinic to receive urgent care services without first getting approval from the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic.
To be eligible for urgent care, veterans must be enrolled in the VA health care system and have received care through Veterans Affairs from either a VA or community provider within the past 24 months.
The urgent care benefit covers the following services:
Colds, minor injuries, skin and ear infections, pink eye, strep throat, and more.
Diagnostic services like X-rays, some lab testing and some medications (with limitations). ....

BATTLE CREEK, MI Veterans in West Michigan and across the state, as well as their caregivers and spouses, are invited to receive COVID-19 vaccines at more than a dozen clinics planned across the region this month.
The push to vaccinate more veterans and their spouses and caregivers is the result of the SAVE LIVES Act signed into law March 24 by President Joe Biden, according to a news release from the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. The legislation removes some of the legal limits on the medical care the VA can provide to veterans, based on health care eligibility. ....
