Amtrak to suspend some service south of Washington ahead of inauguration

Amtrak is suspending some service south of Washington because of security concerns related to Wednesday’s inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.
Northeast Regional trains will end their trips at Union Station on Tuesday and Wednesday, the railroad said. Passengers with tickets to Virginia stations will be contacted to adjust their travel plans.
Amtrak on Saturday also urged passengers traveling to and from Washington this week to add time to navigate around a massive secure zone near Union Station. Road closures and parking restrictions as well as changes to transit operations in downtown are in effect until after Inauguration Day. How to get around and avo ....
