WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The District of Columbia has denied for now the Washington Nationals request to host fans at a limited capacity in Nationals Park when the season begins in April, doing so in a letter Tuesday while promising to revisit the question in about two weeks. That means the final answer on in-person attendance is pending.
The team submitted a proposal Feb. 12 to have fans at Nationals Park starting next month. The proposal was in line with what other MLB teams have had approved by local or state officials, according to a person with knowledge of the process who was not authorized to speak publicly about it. The proposal, that person said, asks to have the maximum number of fans who could sit in small pods that would be ....

The NBA released the second half of the 2020-21 schedule Wednesday, and the Wizards (11-18) will play a healthy 38-game slate in the second half of the season, a bloated schedule because of the six consecutive games they had postponed in January because of a coronavirus outbreak in the organization.
Washington will resume the regular season on March 10 at the Memphis Grizzlies and wrap things up on May 16 against the Charlotte Hornets, with the league s play-in tournament starting two days later. The playoffs are set to run May 22-July 22, finishing the season before this year s Olympic Games are scheduled to begin. ....
