Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that the next phase in the roadmap out of coronavirus restrictions will go ahead as planned on April 12. And these new measures will allow for the reopening of pub beer gardens. So are landlords relieved to be able to welcome customers back to their premises once again, or are they concerned at being at the mercy of the great British weather until mid-May? We spoke to five publicans in the town to find out the view from behind the bar. ....
COPPERAS COVE â Cars and trucks were lined up early Saturday morning in the fog and drizzle as hundreds of people attended a second coronavirus vaccination clinic set up at Copperas Cove Independent School Districtâs bus barn on Summers Road. Along with 500 men and women who received their first injection of the two-dose Pfizer vaccine at a clinic on Feb. 6, another estimated 100 were scheduled to roll up their sleeves Saturday for their initial vaccination. Copperas Cove Deputy Fire Chief and Emergency Management Coordinator Gary Young said the first car arrived 20 minutes early for the 9 a.m. start time, with visitors scheduled from such places as Dallas, Houston, Austin, League City, Copperas Cove, Kempner and Killeen. ....
A WESTBROOK pub has revealed its new outdoor area which will allow friends to gather for a meal and a drink while Warrington is in tier 2. Seven Woods all-weather al fresco dining section can accommodate mixed households under the rule of six with capacity for 40 altogether with social distancing. Lez and Vicki Anders spent three weeks of the second lockdown creating the addition to the Westbrook Crescent pub, owned by Marston s. Vicki said: We’ve managed the Seven Woods for five years now and love being at the heart of our community. We have a new outdoor area with a capacity of 40 extra covers – under current guidelines we can accommodate tables from mixing households to a maximum of six people. ....
