Hi Catey,
I’m seeking to retire to a libertarian-minded city with no (or very, very low) income tax, low property tax, low sales tax, low home- and car-insurance rates, no vehicle inspection and emissions tests, constitutional carry, and where I can “live and let live.” Any places you can suggest?

Hi, U,
To answer your question, I went right to the source: the Libertarian Party itself, where I had a lively chat with Dan Fishman, the party’s executive director, who had a lot of advice for you. The state of Minnesota alone is home to more than 10,000 lakes, but each corner of the United States has nationally and sometimes internationally renowned lake towns.
That a city is known as a lake town can be more significant than its proximity to landlocked bodies of water ideal for recreation. The lakes are often the historical breeding grounds of the nation s first industries, as well as early transportation and shipping hubs. As these lakeside communities grew into the 20th century, they became industrialized and modernized, springing up lively downtowns, diverse shopping districts, big business, new digs for artists and architects, strong primary schools, and top-notch higher education and research facilities. ....

With one big lake derby in the rearview mirror and another set to take place in New England, ice fishing is at a fever pitch. Timing is good for all the attention since the fish appear to be in the mood to reciprocate the love.

Jason, of the
Tackle Shack in Meredith, says right now is among the best times to fish Lake Winnipesaukee since many are recovering from “derby-burnout”! Lakers are making the most news primarily from the southern side of Sebago. Jigs tipped with a fish strip are accounting for a lot of fish. Two alternatives worth considering are Winnisquam and Newfound Lake where a few 7 to 10 pound lakers have been iced! For the most ....
