U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern was just feet away from the rioters who breached the United States Capitol on Jan. 6 and says the attack was inexcusable. McGovern, a Democrat who represents the 2nd congressional district of Massachusetts, shared his experience at the Capitol during a live appearance on WCVB s On the Record Sunday morning.“I was in disbelief because I couldn’t believe that such a crowd could breach the United States Capitol, McGovern said.
