The sun was shining brightly as it moved lower in the sky. The Hall Street Howlers, as the residents call themselves, have been gathering for a Sing-Out every day since the beginning of the pandemic. Afterwards, they linger to chat for a while always masked and socially distanced, of course. “We have certainly become closer as neighbors, and this activity is a lift emotionally after many of these long days,” long-time Hall Street resident Judy Bumbalo said. ....
Smokey Bones Taps Jason Moore as Director of Operations Midwest April 23, 2021 Smokey Bones has named Jason Moore its new Director of Operations Midwest including Fort Wayne Moore’s primary responsibilities will be overseeing Smokey Bones’ ghost kitchen in Chicago, located at 831 N Sedgwick Street, and the Rockford, Ill., restaurant, located at 6690 E State Street. Jason will also support the Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Southern Illinois restaurants. Smokey Bones CEO James O’Reilly says, “We are excited to welcome Jason to the team as we continue to move the Midwest markets forward to support new growth.” Moore began his career with Smokey Bones in 2004 working in the Atlanta-area market. He later relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, and rose from culinary manager to general manager for Smokey Bones. Blundell had been drinking at the Ship Inn Freckleton In 1865 a number of labourers were employed by the Ribble Navigation Company in the forming of an embankment in the estuary of the river Ribble at Freckleton. Amongst them were a strongly built fellow, named Thomas Blundell, and two Irishmen, named Thomas and John Coughlan. Blundell, who lodged in Freckleton, had often been in trouble whilst living there, but he had always managed to talk his way out of it before having to face the magistrates. However, on the second Monday of April 1865, after drinking at the Ship Inn and Coach & Horses, he went to the place where the Coughlan’s were lodging. After being greeted by them he was asked to pay for some beer, but refused to do so. A quarrel ensued and he was turned out of the house. Whilst outside someone dealt him a blow on the face, and as he was about to retaliate Thomas Coughlan pushed him aside. ....
