COURT TODAY: More alleged Worcester child sex offenders


One offence is alleged to have taken place between December 18, 2018 and June 30, 2019 and the other between December 30, 2018 and June 30, 2019.
Cliff Butler, 46, of Primrose Crescent, Worcester, is scheduled to appear for three charges of making indecent images of children, some at category A. This is the most serious category within the guidelines and shows children being raped by adults. These offences are alleged to have occurred between January 21, 2019 and October 21, 2021.
Other cases include Thomas McInerney, 58, of Wyld s Lane, Worcester who is accused of riding a bike while under the influence of drink or drugs.
Josh Biggs, 24. of Blackpole Road. Worcester, is charged with common assault and criminal damage on April 6 this year. ....

One of the most bizarre episodes of World War Two unfolded on a farm to the south of Glasgow on 10 May 1941.
A German airman parachuted out of his Messerschmitt Bf 110 just before it crashed near Floors Farm in Eaglesham.
He was promptly arrested by a pitchfork-wielding local farmer who took him to his farmhouse before alerting the authorities.
The German identified himself as Captain Alfred Horn and demanded to see the Duke of Hamilton because he had an important message for him. ....

Hardly a day goes by without somebody asking Clare Grogan to quote a line from Gregory s Girl, the teenage romantic comedy set in a Scottish new town which became an unlikely hit when it was released 40 years ago this week.
Sometimes they ask me if I can lie down in a bank of grass and dance, says Grogan, who was just 18 when she filmed that scene in the film four decades ago.
Grogan, whose career also included huge success as a pop star in the band Altered Images, told BBC Scotland she does not mind the constant reminders of a film she made when she was a teenager. ....
