Inside the Beltway: 'Majority wants Pelosi out as House speaker'

The poll of 1,995 registered U.S. voters was conducted over the weekend.
“The vast majority of Republicans are opposed to Pelosi staying as speaker, 83%. Independents also lean strongly against her: Just 22% say she should remain speaker, while 59% say she should not,” Mr. Shepard continued.
“The numbers track closely with her overall image rating. Fewer than 4-in-10 voters, 37%, have a favorable opinion of Pelosi, while 52% view her unfavorably. Among independent voters, 27% view Pelosi favorably, and 58% have an unfavorable opinion of her,” the analyst said.

The Cleveland Indians Major League Baseball organization announced in a press release on Sunday it’s looking to change its team name, as our sister site Hot Air reported on Monday. And, as you might reckon, it has to be something unrelated to Native American culture. This, of course, comes on the heels of the Washington Redskins telling everyone that, until they figure out their team’s new name, they’ll go by the utterly vanilla “Washington Football Team.”
But for anyone paying attention, what happened in Cleveland over the weekend wasn’t a surprise. In fact Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air wrote in 2018 about the Indians starting to move in this wrong direction, when they decided to 86 their longtime mascot, Chief Wahoo. ....

Sens. Kelly Loeffler, David Perdue Oppose Changing Atlanta Braves Name

Georgia Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue issed a joint statement Monday, stating that they are opposed to the Atlanta Braves changing their name. The statement comes on the same day Cleveland Indians Owner Paul Dolan told the Associated Press (AP) his team’s name “is no longer acceptable in our world.”
Dolan was referring to Cleveland’s decision to change their team name from “Indians,” a name they have had for 105 years, to a new name that is yet undecided. The decision came after months of deliberation by Dolan and the team, and pressure from groups that called the name insensitive and racist. ....
