A medical ethics nonprofit is alleging that Stanford University broke federal law with a research project involving aborted babies.
The White Coat Waste Project  a non-profit organization working to stop “wasteful,” publicly funded animal testing filed a complaint with the National Institute of Health alleging that Stanford University repeatedly violated federal law by failing to disclose how much taxpayer money was spent on experiments that entailed implanting fingers and femurs from aborted human babies into mice.
In the 2018 study, fingers from the remains of eighteen-week-old human fetuses were implanted into five-day-old mice. Four weeks later, the researchers broke the fingers and left them inside the baby mice for two more weeks. ....

It s Sunshine Week, meaning that it s time to expose some of the more egregious uses of American taxpayer dollars. For instance, do we really need to be funding Princeton s research to lock monkeys in cages to hear them say, Will you marry me? You can read more about that nonsense here.
But more seriously, American dollars have reportedly subsidized research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. For more than a decade, Eco Health Alliance has been sending teams to China to trap bats, collect samples of their blood, saliva and feces, and check those samples for new coronaviruses, as NPR reported last year. The White Coat Waste Project helped uncover the scandal. As vice president Justin Goodman put it, we were funding treacherous research in China. ....

Sen. Ernst to Introduce Bill Mandating Tracking White House, Executive Branch Carbon Emissions

Sen. Ernst to Introduce Bill Mandating Tracking White House, Executive Branch Carbon Emissions
Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) says she is introducing legislation that would require the federal government to track and make public the carbon emissions produced by President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and executive branch departments and agencies.
“What I’ve done is put forward some new legislation which will track the carbon emissions of White House and executive branch officials,” Ernst told reporters on March 17 during a digital news conference to mark Sunshine Week.
Sunshine Week celebrates important transparency-in-government laws such as the federal Freedom of Information Act and the March 16 birthday of President James Madison, one of the main authors of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. “Thirty-five years after drafting the Constitution, Madison wrote that democracy without information is ‘but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy,’” Sen.
