The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lead the race in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (AJKLA) elections, according to preliminary results announced by the Election Commission (EC) till filing of this report late on Sunday.
According to the unconfirmed and unofficial results, the PTI won 22 seats out of 32 constituencies whose results were announced by the commission, while its arch rival Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) grabbed four seats, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) clinched five seats while All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference secured one seat.
Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, the PTI’s candidate from LA-1 Dadiyal, emerged victorious in election by securing 14,233 votes. Chaudhry Masood Khalid of PML-N came second by bagging 7,609 votes.

Outlawed TLP ends sit-in after 'deal' with govt

Banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on Tuesday evening announced to end Lahore sit-in and all other protests across the country after successful talks with the federal government, a private TV channel reported.
The banned TLP Majlis-e-Shura (advisory council) member Maulana Ghulam Abbas announced ending the sit-in and asked the protesters to disperse peacefully.
Talks between the government and the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) remained successful on Tuesday after Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed announced the government would present a resolution in the National Assembly seeking the expulsion of French envoy and withdraw cases against the members of the banned religious party. A government delegation, comprising the interior minister, Minister for Religious Affairs Dr Noorul Haq Qadri, SAPM Tahir Ashrafi, Governor Punjab Mohammad Sarwar and Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat, held talks with the members of the proscribed organisation in Lahore.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday announced that the government will present a resolution on the expulsion of the French ambassador in the National Assembly later today.
In a video statement, he said the decision was taken after another round of talks with the recently proscribed Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
While the minister said that the resolution will be presented later today, there is no session scheduled for Tuesday. A day earlier, the session was adjourned to meet again on April 22 (Thursday) at 2pm.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Chairman Quran Board Punjab Sahibzada Hamid Raza has said that the proscribed Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) may file a petition for review on the party ban within a month.
While talking to Dunya News program "Nuqta-e-Nazar", he said that no attempt was made to create a deadlock between the two sides.
Sahibzada Hamid Raza said that property was damaged in certain areas during the protests but the leaders of the banned TLP denounced such elements and said they had nothing to do with them.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday said that the recently proscribed Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has agreed to call off protests across the country.
"Talks with the party will continue," he said.
He announced that the government would present a resolution on the expulsion of the French ambassador in the National Assembly today.
In a video statement, he said the decision was taken after another round of talks with TLP.
The minister said that cases registered against TLP workers under the Fourth Schedule will also be withdrawn, adding that he will give a detailed briefing on the development via a press conference later today.
