Ohio Wildlife Officer Matt Madgar has been assigned to Geauga County, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife.
A 2019 graduate of the Wildlife Officer Academy, Madgar has served Cuyahoga County since March 2019. He replaces Ohio Wildlife Officer Scott Denamen, who has served Geauga County since 2003 and recently was promoted to wildlife officer supervisor.
Madgar graduated from Howland High School in Trumbull County in 2011, and from Youngstown State University in 2015 with degrees in criminal justice and business administration.

HOWLAND Members of the community came together this weekend to show support and raise funds for a Howland High School student who has been battling several serious illnesses.
Sandra Rose, 16, a junior at the school and one of the cheerleaders, has faced several illnesses in the past month and has been at the Cleveland Clinic currently in the children’s rehab facility

BENEFIT: The “No Tiger Fights Alone” fundraiser to help Howland High School student Sandra Rose will be held 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Howland Tiger Stadium. Sandra has been battling COVID-19, diabetes and other health issues at the Cleveland Clinic. The fundraiser will include a drive-thru dinner, 50-50 raffle, cornhole, basket raffle and bake sale. Sandra is a junior at the school and a cheerleader. She was moved to a children’s rehabilitation facility earlier this week.
CEMETERY CLEANUP: The Vienna Historical Society will host a cleanup at noon Saturday at Doud Cemetery, located next to state Route 11 off King Graves Road. Those who can help are asked to meet at the cemetery.
