She has now been left devastated after having the plot taken away. Mr Nash, who is a driving instructor, said: “This was everything to her. “It has seriously affected her, she can’t face going anywhere near that area now and as soon as the notice was issued it sent her into a period of depression – she feels lost. “Gina has lost something she really loved, I can’t emphasise enough how happy she was when she was looking after that land. It’s almost like telling Mary Berry she’s not allowed near an oven. “It has left a big emotional scar and has knocked her sideways.

Plans to ‘rejuvenate’ a vacant building in Horwich into seven apartments has been approved by the council. The site was previously used as a ‘light industrial fridge business’, but has been sat vacant for over 20 months, with these plans looking to convert the building into seven, one bedroom apartments. A statement submitted with the application by the developers, Zigmoore Ltd, said the apartments would be “suitable for young professionals, with the potential to be used as social housing in the future”. The statement added: “The conversion will bring a social and economic benefit to the local community. “The proposal significantly outweighs the existing use of the unit in terms of planning considerations. The massing, scale, and materiality of the site will not change.
