Revised plans are being brought forward for a stalled project with twin towers in downtown Vancouver’s West End neighbourhood.
Newly submitted rezoning applications by Bosa Properties’ Bosa4Rent Homes division seek to redevelop the northeast and southeast corners of the intersection of Thurlow Street and Harwood Street, with 1065 Harwood and 1332 Thurlow Street deemed as the north site and 1066-1078 Harwood Street being the south site.

21-storey wooden tower with 216 rental homes proposed for Vancouver (RENDERINGS)


The tower’s name, Prototype, is intended to be a model for future tall wood housing projects, including showcasing the cost effectiveness, the minimal construction elements required for each floor, and the quicker construction process compared to conventional methods.
The project design team comprised of Henriquez Partners Architects and Glotman Simpson is exploring the use of two mass timber hybrid systems. One system uses cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels in a way that reduces the cross-sectional area, while the second system is a post-beam-panel system comprised of beams spanning to steel or timber columns to support a one-way heavy timber panel. ....

parallel with Biennale Architettura on May 22nd, 2021 and it
will run for six months until November 21th, 2021 at Palazzo
Bembo, Palazzo Mora and Giardini della Marinaressa, with
press previews and opening parties in each location on May
21th and 22nd. 2021.
The new dates have been decided
according to the current international situation and related
mobility restrictions.

New landmark towers in downtown Vancouver win international design awards


This tower was developed by Bosa Properties and designed by Henriquez Partners Architects as one of the visual gateways into the downtown core along the West Georgia Corridor from Stanley Park.
It is considered as one of the starchitect designs in the growing cluster of innovative and unique tower architecture in the general area of the northwest corner of the West End and the southwest corner of Coal Harbour.

The LEED Gold green building’s main defining feature is its deeply angled, v-shapes of white steel that also serve the functional purpose of providing shading and privacy for the homes, and reducing solar heat gain. The origami-like shapes were inspired by seagulls and the hang gliders on Grouse Mountain. ....
