New Delhi: Alarmed at India's Covid-19 vaccine outreach, China has launched a smear campaign in a bid to discredit India's efforts in combating the coronavirus pandemic. The Indian government's timely delivery and mass production of Covid vaccines have put China on the back foot in South Asia.
India has gifted Covishield, a Covid-19 vaccine manufactured locally by Serum Institute of India (SII), to all SAARC nations except Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Indian government will donate five lakh doses of the vaccine to Sri Lanka in the coming days and has assured the vaccine delivery to Afghanistan as well.
