On March 12 the NCAA canceled March Madness, the glut of college basketball games that generates hundreds of millions of dollars for cities around the country â and a source of entertainment for fans after a long winter.
Soon after that the MLB season was postponed. and so began the beginning of a year that became defined by COVID-19 and the diseaseâs impact on society.
Locally, Somerset County remained somewhat isolated from a serious infection rate for months, but the spring lockdowns took their toll.
