there's enough of pattern with regards to mr. porter that she should have left far earlier. this is about american women and domestic violence and our need to respond to it. >> why aren't republican fathers in congress or brothers and wives may face similar risk. why aren't they speaking up in the absence of a public condemnation of this by the president? >> that's a good question. i talked to many of them to get a pulse of the feeling. many of them say they do take domestic violence seriously and think it would have been appropriate for the president to initially come out and speak on this and many of them have said that they think the response has been a communications failure.
