As children democrats like nancy pelosi still calling deal the plan to make America White again saying the president is racist but weve got some immigration comments from two former democrats president s youll not believe what they said. What did you think of the president s speech today that america is open for business and America First does not mean america alone . I thought it was absolutely terrific. He was basically selling not only his policies but he was selling the United States to lets face it a roomful of corporate titans who can well bring their money and their investments to the United States he made a very strong case and i totally applaud him for this that this is the place to invest and liz, this is an enormous message from this white house and one that i think really democrats attack at their peril. Democrats continue to say we cant manufacture any more, we cant compete. Its simply not true and the policies of this white house are totally geared towards making america the strongest place in the world to put money and i think its working. I think we see it every day. I am just i was totally in favor of what he had to say today. Liz you know liz we made a mash up comparing what the president was saying today compared to president obamas apology tour. Lets take a listen. There have been times where americas showed aerogance and been dismissive. President trump i believe in america as president of the United States, i will always put America First, just like the leaders of other countries should put their Country First also. The United States is still working through some of our own darker periods in our history. President trump but America First does not mean america alone. Weve at times been disengaged and at times we sought to dictate our terms. President trump when the United States grows, so does the world. American prosperity has created countless jobs, all around the globe and the drive for excellence, creativity and innovation in the u. S. Has led to important discoveries that help people every where live more prosperous and far healthier lives. Liz liz did obamas negative comments about the United States put it at a disadvantage . You know, i think the real difference is he never sold america. He never did put America First or put job creation first. I thought the best line in trump s speech was something about how the best antipoverty measure is a big fat paycheck or whatever his words were, but look, what we all love about President Trump and really came through in this davos session is that hes totally unapologetic about putting the Country First, about demanding that our trading partners dont cheat on trade agreements, that hes un apologetic about our support of israel. Hes unapologetic about things like promoting Oil Gas Production in the United States which of course scares the global elites because of Climate Change but in fact its an incredibly important security and economic measure for the United States. I thought it was terrific. Liz hes saying other countries should put their own Country First and they do do that. Cnn fact checked President Trump s speech and surprisingly President Trump passed cnns fact check. Watch. A lot of these numbers hes telling you about the stock market and economy are right. The stock market is up really big over the past year. Job creation has been very good it is at a 17 year low in unemployment and the tax cuts were really important for everyone in those rooms they loved those tax cuts and theres some who worry privately and publicly that it will exacerbate incoming equality that most of those tax cuts will go to the top 1 and to companies, but at least Public Relations youre seeing all of these other companies saying theyre going to give bonuses and thats something the president is taking credit for and says they did not anticipate. Liz well this cnn reporter is reporting it. Are they economic benefits out weighing the negative for the president in the media . Well the media isnt paying much attention to them, liz as we know, but there are over 3 million American Workers probably close to 4 million now who have received pretty big paychecks and bonuses, pay hikes and bonuses from over 263 companies. Thats the latest tally and that has to be considered a movement and i think we are far from seeing end of it. You know, this is going to continue to make people feel pretty good about the gop tax bill even as the democrats continued to simply dismiss it. I think theyre really kind of fighting brick wall here and its not going well for democrat s. Instead its going well for American Workers and thats what trump has been talking about since he was elected. Liz quickly to your point we havent even gotten to the Tech Companies starting to bring their cash pile, 2 trillion overseas back into the United States. That is hardly just begun. The New York Times, fake stories liz but here we found hardly any coverage except that this network on the 15 european non american and foreign ceos promising to invest billions of dollars to create more jobs in the u. Is he getting enough credit for whats going on with these companies and whats going on with the economy . Well you can kind of understand why he might have considered firing mueller because it has been a total distraction from the progress thats being made in the United States in the economy in job creation et cetera, and if youre President Trump and you have not engaged in any collusion with russia, why wouldnt you want to shutdown an investigation that the media just loves to talk about and basically while theyre ignoring the good things that youre doing on the economy . I mean, i understand his frustration and a lot of us who voted for President Trump and are really excited about the progress that this administration is making shares his frustration and, you know, i think the best decision, the good news is he didnt fire mueller. I think its getting close to the end of this investigation and by the way the reasons that he gave for wanting to dismiss mueller as special counsel had to do with muellers potential conflicts of interest or bias. The truth is as the months have gone by weve seen more and more evidence of such bias. It may not be informing mueller s investigation but its certainly there and it makes us even more sympathetic with a president who feels under attack constantly. Liz lets go back to what the president calls this waterfall of companies reacting to the tax cuts. Now we have 243 companies reacting giving taxes back to workers, higher wages, bonuses, more expansion in the u. S. Fedex more than 3. 2 billion in those wage increases and bonuses , Pension Funding more u. S. Capital investment that was after the gop tax cuts. President trump touting it as a big beautiful waterfall off investment in america. Watch. President trump at t and some others came out very early and they said they were going to pay thousands and thousands of dollars to people that work for their companies and you have 300,000, 400,000, 500,000 people working for these companies and all of a sudden it became like a big waterfall, a big beautiful waterfall where so Many Companies are doing it. This is something that we didnt anticipate. Oftentimes in business things happen that you dont anticipate usually thats a bad thing but this was a good thing. This came out of nowhere. Nobody ever thought of this as a possibility even. It wasnt in the equation. Its just not a little money this is a lot of money for people making a living doing whatever they may be doing and we really thought february 1 it was going to kick in and everybody was going to be. Other national leaders, the heads of our rivals and the heads of our allies who were sitting in that room, their citizens are going to start to say why arent you adopting these programs . Why arent you cutting taxes . This looks pretty good for the United States. How about us . So i thought this was a really really strong event that took place in the World Economic forum. I think the crowd was eating up what we had to say because theyre making a lot of money but when he brought up the issue of fake news we heard boo. His speech about America First were all waiting for turned out to be nothing. This was a reiteration of all sorts of things weve heard in speeches there wasnt a single piece of news in here. What stood out to me was really the inherent lack of any particular substance in this speech. Oh, absolutely what you witnessed and what you just show ed all of your viewers is that the media is definitely in the bubble. The news here was the fact that american president went and told all of the global elitists of the world that business has changed in america. We are open for business, for free and fair trade and welcome them to participate in a sovreign nation capital system. President trump ive always seemed to get a disproportion at amount of press or media. [laughter] President Trump throughout my whole life, somebody will explain some day why, but ive always got it and as a businessman i was always treated really well by the press you know the numbers speak and things happen but ive always really had a very good press and it wasnt until i became a politician that i realized how nasty, how mean, how vicious and how fake the press can be, as the cameras start going off in the background. But overall, i mean the bottom line, somebody said well they couldnt have been that bad because here we are. Liz here is cnn jim acosta ratcheting up that moment as an attack on the free press. That was just moments after the speech lets take a listen. The most fascinating moment came at the very end where the president went off script for a few moments and took a shot at the press and said how fake the press can be in the u. S. But hes mixing with these fat cats and big wigs nonstop ever since hes been on the ground in davos it was rather remarkable to hear the founder of this World Economic forum also take jabs at the press and say that the president is the victim of bias interpretations and misconceptions. All in all, that was a fairly pitiful display i think to have so many business and Global Leaders here have those kinds of statements made with the president by his side and then nobody really take exception to that but that is sort of the what were living in thats the environment we live in with President Trump. Liz you know katrina ive been a journalist for 30 years and at the wall street journal and forbes magazine. The one thing journalists hate is to be pinned down. Journalists hate to have questions asked of themselves so are they taking themselves too seriously. This is being taken way too seriously. Look its apparent that they dont even listen to their own coverage. Jim acosta just said there are people in the room who agreed with the president when he said fake news and you could hear claps. Its insane they cant even see their bias in their own reporting. No not everyone is going to agree. Thats why this is politics and there are two sides but President Trump is definitely on something and the media has got to get it together and start reporting the news in a fair way or theyre going to be obsolete. Well in 2011 barack obama passed a payroll tax cut that gave 95 American Workers on average of a thousand dollars. Donald trump passed a tax bill that cost 1. 5 trillion in less than 2 of the American Workforce is getting a piece of that. Liz thats not true joint committee and taxation says 70 puerto rico per will see a tax cut. Liz a penny saved is a opinion it earned and from where i come from in ohio people can take any penny they can get and a thousand dollars is huge to so many families that could pay for their electric bill, the holidays, could give so much for them and so a thousand dollars is not nothing. A thousand dollars is a huge raise for many people, a huge bonus for so many people and ill tell you now i dont care how much you make a thousand dollars in your pocket is an extra thousand dollars and its great. Liz jake even before the Tech Companies are expected to bring back 2 trillion in cash overseas, i mean i understand the democrats wanting to double down and stick to the tax cuts for the rich narrative but regular americans dont believe it, they seeing effects in wage increases going up, right . Well the tax cuts do go to the rich. Liz thats not true. Come on you guys have got to stop. This is a lame argument. Its not proved by the facts. The same study that youre talking about said that most of the benefit goes to the people at the top. But some of it still goes to the people at the bottom. Liz do you know why . Do you know why . Well, i think their true colors are being exposed here really everybodies are. The president is showing ledder ship. Hes showing hes willing to solve a problem that has been eluding previous add money it separations for over 30 years and hes willing to do what it takes to finally secure our border which i represent a Border Community to move our immigration system more towards merit to end this lottery system the vast majority of americans agree with this so his true colors are being shown as someone leading and willing to negotiate and the democrat leadership is showing their true colors, that theyve been playing politics with the Daca Recipients and the dreamers. Look at what was offered and theyre rejecting it with these extreme statements. I was in the room sitting two people next to the president during that unprecedented meeting that the media was allowed to be at on this topic. We walked away with them agreeing there would be four pillars to the negotiations. Daca, border security, chain migration and visa lottery. They were there. They all nodded up and down and now when the president actually offers a solution, i dont know whats going on in their hearts but i think theyre being exposed to show they actually dont care about these dreamers theyre playing politics with them and i think their biggest fear is theyre afraid this is solved by this president and thats not going to impact their electoral politics they think will help them in 2018. Liz australia and canada have tougher immigration policies and the democrats have been so far left theyre blind to their own extremism and rhetoric. Listen as nancy pelosi is now saying this deal is President Trump trying to create a white america. Watch. That plan is a campaign to make America White again. Its a plan that says over 50 of the current Legal Immigration will be cut back, that many people will be sent out of the country. Liz nancy pelosi said nothing about what bill clinton and barack obama said. Bill clinton once said americans are rightly disturbed by the large number of illegals entering the country and taking our jobs and that they impose burdens on taxpayers and here senator barack obama in his 2006 book said he feels patriotic resentment seeing mexican flags at proimmigration demonstrations and he gets frustrated he said in his book using a translator to communicate with people of other countries including mexicans. Can you imagine democrats saying Something Like that today congresswoman . This is extremely offensive. We are the most immigrant friendly country and were going to continue to be. All we are saying is that we should be deciding like countries like canada and australia who those immigrants should be based on them coming here working hard and living the American Dream on all ends of the spectrum, a meritbased approach as opposed to an extended approach. The Nuclear Family would be protected but we should be deciding who the next immigrants are not the most recent immigrant bringing in parents, brothers and sisters and adult children. It doesnt make any sense and these statements are offensive. I mean, i meet immigrants all over the community that i represent who worked hard, come here legally and we still have a very strong approach moving forward to a good strong Legal Immigration system. Again these statements are extreme and i hope really people are exposed to include again the dreamers. Look at what these leaders are saying. The president has actually moved and negotiated and is offering something to you and the democrat leaders you think are protecting you are rejecting it because of politics.
