Halloween is HUGE in Pahrump! Don’t get caught with a full bowl of candy and nary a child in sight on Halloween night like I did my first year here. Pahrump looks forward to handing out candy and treats to our youngsters so much that tradition has evolved into a “Trunk or Treat” phenomenon. Those of us who live on an acre or more drive our vehicles to a community gathering (or two! or three!), pop our trunks, decorate appropriately, and host little goblins at a site where they can gather a respectable amount of candy loot traveling from trunk to trunk. Adult costumes are optional, but fun and notable. Dress your friendly pets, too. Get out to one of the Trunk or Treat gatherings scheduled for Friday through Tuesday, and have a howling good time. If you reside in a densely-populated subdivision, check with your neighbors; you may expect enough costumed-kiddo traffic to satisfy your inner Halloween child, but if you want to view and exclaim over dozens upon dozens of ghosts and goblins, show up at a Trunk or Treat. They’re great Halloween parties!
