Known only as emily doe, last night in an interview with 60 minutes, Chanel Miller came out publicly to talk about her pain. Rape is not a punishment for getting drunk. You deserve a hangover, a really bad hangover. But you dont deserve to have mebody insert their body parts inside of you. In 2015, miller was sexually assaulted outside a party by brock turner, a star swimmer at stanford. Turner was convicted on three counts of felony Sexual Assault. The maximum sentence was 14 years, but turner was sentenced to six months in county jail, and only served three. The judge, aaron perski said a longer sentence would have a severe impact on turner. I was in shock. I just put aside a year and a half of my life so he could go to county jail for three months. How can you explain that to me. Judge per sky was later recalled by california voters. Brock turner now a registered sex offender, living with family in ohio. Miller says she has lived in fear being humiliated if her identity was discovered. Now shes reclaiming her identity in a new memoir, know my name, and recorded the emotional victim impact statement she made in court. You better buckle up and get inside andy and i are cooking with bobby flay, recipes from his most personal cook book yet, but first this is today on nbc this morning on today food, how to make your favorite steakhouse dinner at home, and our teacher is one of the countrys most celebrated chefs, his name is bobby flay, have you heard of him. Five daytime emmy awards and in 2015, he became the first chef to be awarded a star on the hollywood walk of fame. Is that true . I didnt know that it was a slow year. Hes written his 15th cookbook, called bobby at home, fearless flavors from my kitchen. Did we read that write, 15th cookbook. Its just a bunch of steak and potatoes. Youre going to help us make the perfect steak, right yes, this is a porterhouse steak and you called it a tbone which is also technically correct. A porterhouse has more on the filet on one side, so basically its the best of both worlds its the tbone down the middle, on one side the strip, the other side the filet and we start the sear were going to cook this in a cast iron pan. I have been always been scared about cooking a steak in a pan. But this is the way . This is the way to control it. Think about it this way, if you have a grill, you have to worry about the flames and flare ups but a cast iron panif you dont have one, buy one, its the most economical and best use of anything in your kitchen youll have. What level of heat and how long high heat, and the great thing about a cast iron pan its going to hold it well. Salt and pepper on the steak, and put one side down, and leave it there for about 4 or 5 minutes. Dont flip it. Do not flip it. Its so thick, i would think cooking it through would be hard. Heres my technique you will not find in culinary school. If you did this in culinary school, you would flunk. Its an old steakhouse method. I take the steak and cut it off the bone. So its raw looking inside. Its completely raw in the middle seared on the outside, and i put it back together. Like a puzzle. And then what i do is i put it back, i put the steak back into the pan as if it was just sort of, you know, the same shape and then i put a little butter on top butter, thats not a little its all in the eye of beholder. Youre killing me what . Youre going to love this steak. I know im going to love it because you doused it in butter. Its reverse fitness, you work out first, and then you eat the steak. I dont know where fitness comes in and then a little bit of in. And then a little bit of pepper and you let it cook. Pepper and you let it cook put it under the broiler in your oven for 4 to 6 minutes, the butter melts, the butter gets warm and goes into the crevasses of the steak yes and then you have all of these juices from the butter and steak. What else is on there and theres some blue cheese on top. Youre killing me. This is low fat blue cheese. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, low fat. If you dont like blue cheese, not a big deal, but blue cheese and steak obviously a good combination and then you can serve the steak. Take a small bite im going to have to work out. Which one is the filet side, it doesnt matter. This is the filet side here this is the filet side. This is incredible. Very tender so whats happening im actually tempted to go grab the bone, too, and just start gnawing. And just start gnawing. Gnaw on the bone. You dont even taste gnaw on the bone. You dont even taste the butter. Its the meat juices with the butter running through it. You have steak, you must need potatoes and you need mushrooms, the potatoes, very quickly, this is a old school potato, basically thin slices of potatoes, dont cut yourself, and then a little bit of cream, some salt and pepper, and you keep layering it until it gets to the top. When say a ttle bit of cream youre in great shape you can eat whatever you want to eat. Its all about moderation. All right and then you put this in the oven for about 45 minutes. Until it gets nice and thick like this. Look at that. And then on top, we have some beautiful shallots that we caramelize. Gorgeous. Some good flavor. Can you talk about the beauty shot that you have of those mushrooms, crazy. Roasted button mushrooms, find them in your grocery store, parsley, olive oil and garlic. And garlic in the mushrooms, thats a key you have a steakhouse dinner, really simple. Craig is cooking his own steak there. I didnt want it to burn. Steak blue cheese, mushrooms.
