Some staff members of Nigerian para-military services which include correctional, immigration, fire, and civil defence have lamented the non-payment of peculiar allowances and promotion arrears by the government despite approval since July 2023. The workers who spoke to SaharaReporters on condition of anonymity accused their supervisory interior ministry of colluding with their Controller Generals and some other top government officials to divert and embezzle the funds meant for the payment.
