Good
afternoon evening, Athletics Nation!
The Oakland A’s had 10 free agents come off their roster at the end of the 2020 season, and one of them officially found a new home this week. The Detroit Tigers signed outfielder
Grossman spent the last two seasons on the A’s, and built a promising resume on both sides of the ball. In 2019 he was a finalist for the Gold Glove in LF, and in 2020 he enjoyed a breakout at the plate that included a 126 wRC+ and a career-high .482 slugging percentage. He’ll need to prove the strong hitting wasn’t a short-season fluke, but it’s no surprise to see him earn a multi-year deal — and just two winters after being non-tendered by the Twins.
