The Illinois Boys Bobby Pierce (#32) and Brandon Shepard brought the Dirt Car series field to green for night #2 of the Speedweeks at Volusia Speedway Park outside Daytona Tuesday. It would be second generation racer (son of the Tall Cool One - Bob Pierce) holding off friend Devin Moran (son of the Million Dollar Man - Donnie Moran) at the conclusion of the 30 lapper.
Pierce thanked the usual crew, family and friends in victory lane in front of the DirtVision.com cameras, then took a moment to wish special love to his Aunt Jen Hawk who'd earlier in the day passed away from a brain aneurysm. Hawk, with husband Larry, own Premier Waste Services, one of Bobby's primary sponsors on the racecar. Behind Moran was Hudson O'Neil in Maryville's Roger Sellars owned team, Shepard and Darryl Lannigan of Kentucky.
