Everyone knows that the president of the United States lives in the
White House, but did you know that the vice president lives in a different, less grandiose (but still impressive) white house? Since 1977, every person who has held the position of vice president has called the same place home: Number One Observatory Circle. The house in question is a Queen Anne-style Victorian home that was built in 1893 on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.—and its history is pretty fascinating.
