butch patrick: back in the 60s what was going on in the country was uh, a lot of people were having issues about who was living next door to who. neighbor: this was such a nice neighborhood, until they moved in. butch patrick: we were of color, even though it was green, but we were like the family you didn't want to have move into the block. sheryl lee ralph: i saw the munsters as the black people. and i thought, i like this. this is good. marilyn: uncle herman i'd like you to meet my date. this is... oh uncle herman what's the matter with me anyway? sheryl: back then, the world is bubbling up for a change. i just wish the producers could've cast black people, but they couldn't... they had to go with real monsters, which is deep in itself. butch patrick: joe connelly and bob mosher created the munster's were powerhouse hollywood writers.
