They have a life size cutout of the pope here so people can take selfies with him and make sure that they get a lot of likes on instagram. Thigh school also has face masks of the pope. Yesterday the remains of a third person were found inside the burnedout cabin that belongs to a benicia couple and their young son. The remains are not identified. The three people havent been seen since the fire nearly two weeks ago. A neighbor thinks they were there the day the house went up in flames. I saw a white pickup going in and out. Caltrans has new numbers on how much its going to cost to fix the troublesome rods at the base of the bay bridge tower. The estimate is between 15 and 25 million and a lot of that money will come from you from tolls. Engineers think that most of the 400 rods are riddled with tiny cracks from corrosion because of faulty construction. They were exposed to water after spaces around them were flooded. Police say the driver hit the gas instead of the brake and now a bill before the governor is aimed at protecting storefronts with barriers. We felt it was very important that people know that they should be putting protections up and what those protections have to look like. The bill would create insurance incentives for businesses to put up those barriers. It would also Fund Research to make sure that standards for such barriers are strong enough. Caught on camera, a man walks into a pharmacy in san mateo. Police say he was there to get drugs but he didnt have a prescription. Watch as the suspect with a knife jumps overthecounter on tuesday. A chicago woman now knows for certain that her brother was killed in San Francisco 36 years ago. The remains were found as part of an investigation into several serial killings and although the body is not linked to those killings, she stood with the Cook County Sheriff yesterday announcing that her dna matched that of a boy found shot to death in 1979. That match occurred during work to identify eight victims of serial killer john wayne gacy. Believe me, although im terribly sad, knowing is so much better. Elsewhere, towards the bay bridge all your approaches towards the bay bridge are seeing some delays right now. You have slowandgo conditions westbound 80. Youre stacked up at the bay bridge. Metering lights are on. Its been very slow. Also out of the maze heading towards the bay bridge this morning. 32 minutes on that eastshore freeway commute if you are coming away from the carquinez bridge to the maze. We have some bart delays to report now, as well. Pittsburgbay point line both directions 10 to 15minute delays due to an obstruction on the tracks. Westbound 580 also a problem. Ten Miles Per Hour in some spots as you work your way out of tracy into the Altamont Pass. Slowandgo towards the dublin interchange. Good news though they finally cleared that roadwork on that eastbound side and you can see in our live shot here, traffic looking a lot better though but most of those delays westbound as you work your way towards 680.
