Reporter a sergeant with the Investigations Unit with the San Jose Police department told me his team will try to figure out if weather was a factor in the deadly crash. It is still raining a little bit now. This is a single car accident that happened on the front street and the 280 overpass. Fire crews are trying to assist the Coroners Office. To get the mans body out of the car. The driver in this case was a 22yearold man. The accident happened about 2 30 this morning when the man lost control of his car. Swerved off the road and actually sheared off two light poles on the side of the road. The car went up the embankment before flipping over and landing on the roof. It is a San Jose Police officer on patrol nearby who heard the crash. There is an officer parked around the corner. He heard the accident. He was the first one on the scene providing first aid. He was pronounced shortly after. The sergeant out here tells me the victim has been identified at this point. Police are not releasing his name as of yet. At this point there are no outward signs that alcohol was a factor in the crash and that will be investigated here and to bring you out to the live picture. He was taken to the hospital with stab wounds and they are now searching for the hitchhiker. This happened yesterday afternoon on gary street near leaven worth. The bicyclist swerved into traffic to avoid someone opening a car door. The bicyclist was treated at the hospital for injuries. 13yearold girl is recovering from lifethreatening after being hit injuries after being hit. His name is not being released at this point. This is a single car accident. Investigators are out here working the scene. It happened on first south street. Over the 280 overpass. He swerved off the road and his car ended up on the roof. Thats where it still is at this point. The coroner removed his body and the crash happened at 2 30 this morning. He went off the roadway. Sheared off light poles and went over the embankment before flipping and landing on its roof. They heard the crash and tried to help the driver. There was rain overnight in the area. Traffic investigators will be trying to figure out if weather played a role in the deadly crash. Weather could have played a factor. I dont know what the rain was like at the time of the stent. A teenager is scheduled to be in court for charges that he was planning an attack on his high school. He is being prosecuted as an adult. He is a selfproclaimed white supremacist looking to commit hate crimes. He mapped out a plan to bomb the school in a journal he kept in a camouflage cover. A teacher discovered it after he carelessly left it in class on friday. Maybe he has friends that wanted to do it. He could have gotten it into the school. And he could have gotten the whole cool. He targeted six students and a teacher and developed the plan days after the Connecticut School shooting. They found dozens of tobacco containers filled with shrapnel and fuses in his bedroom. The family said journal is filled with the harmless thoughts of a rebellous teenager. This is in aurora, colorado. A 33yearold man shot and killed three people before officers gunned him down. The victims are his fatherinlaw and sisterinlaw. The standoff was when the man barricaded himself in the home and fired at officers. As she was leaving, she saw three people in the home that appeared to be lifeless. A woman who safely escaped was identified as the gunmans wife. She said her husband is mental little ill. Weather could be to blame for a deadly accident that shut down several streets in san jose overnight. That crash happened around 2 30 this morning on south first in margaret streets. The car veered off the side of the road hitting lampposts before flipping upside down. A 22yearold man was pronounced dead at the scene. Menlow park firefighters responded to a hazmat scare at a bio chemical facility overnight. A Security Guard at pacific bio sciences smelled a strange odor and felt nauseous. When firefighters arrived on scene, they decided to launch a hazmat operation. Safety crews were not sure what type of substances were stored in the building, so they put on those hazmat suits and set up a de contamination area. We set up a hot zone, a warm zone and a cold zone. Prepared to decon an entry team and we did set up an entry team to go in and examine the atmosphere. Firefighters traced the problem to an overheated ventilation system. New this morning a 16year old is recovering in the hospital after being shot overnight. It happened around 10 15 last night on Santa Theresa way and park boulevard. Police say it appears to be a driveby shooting. The teen was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. At this hour, the search continues for a man who stabbed a cab driver outside Macarthur Bart station. Oakland police say the incident began last night with an argument between a man and woman on board a train. The woman got off the train and the man chased after her and followed her into a taxi. The cab driver tried to intervene, but thats when he was stabbed. The suspect took off and another cabbie took him to the hospital where the victim is reportedly in stable condition. There is no word on what happened to the woman involved. Meanwhile, a 13yearold girl is recovering from life threatening injuries she received after being hit by a taxi in San Francisco. That happened on friday night near the intersection of pine and stockton. Police say the girl was visiting from out of town, and it appears she ran into traffic. People who live in that area say this is just the latest incident involving that intersection. They say pedestrians just cant see cars coming up the 4eu8. P. Shut down the off ramp while police investigated the shooting. All victims took themselves to the hospital and are reportedly in stable condition. No word on if anybody is in custody. Oakland city leaders and the police union are reportedly at odds over safety spending. According to the chronicles, two Council Members want to spend about 500,000 to get deputies from Alameda Countys Sheriffs Office to help patrol oakland city streets but the Police Union Says the money should go to buying new squad cars, more training, or to be used for hiring Additional Police officers. Napa Police Cruisers are getting a new look. Police in napa are phasing out their Ford Crown Victorias for chevy caprice sedans. Two companies are reportedly in the running to acquire the hostess baking empire. The wall street journal says two companies, one from georgia and one in mexico are both considering bids for the hostess breads brand which could go up for 250. The new mexico based company makessed thomass english must have finishes. Hostess declared bankruptcy in november. And sling media plans to change its ways after customers filed multiple complaints about its warranty and maintenance plans. That company will pay now neon 195,000 in penalties to settle the claims. Reporter we just got here, sort of getting a lay of the land but we understand according to an officer i talked with this mans body found outside of a home thats just up this block, partway down on the lefthand side. Thats where investigators are focused right now. And police are saying at this point the death is considered suspicious. This is the 1900 block of tripoli avenue. San jose police got this 911 call around 8 00 this morning. Reports of a man who was unconscious and not breathing. Paramedics arrived here and they eventually pronounced this man dead. At this point, police hasnt said exactly how this man died, but obviously the circumstances surrounding this death raised enough red flags for the initial officers who arrived here on scene, that the homicide unit has now been called in here.
