of passing showers and thundershowers as it moves throughout the afternoon. and looking at the glass half full, there's a chance that nothing will happen. >> well, the fog will figure into your ride this morning. well, it's hard not to notice it. we have accidents because of it. one on the westside of the beltway. that's past wilkens avenue and another at the eastern avenue and one in darlington. that's blocking the road there and closed between shoresville and castle ton. to get around that, you can go to shores road and back to the other. and marriottsville, there's a live look at the harrisburgs expressway. you can barely see the roadway. there's 295 and 32. fog warnings in effect on all of the area bridges this morning. here's what people are talking about today. transportation planes are traveling between london and bwi this morning and check out the latest video from the volcano. it's lost some of its intensity and some marylanders are stranded still because of that. here's kai jackson with more. back on u.s. soul, it's a great feeling for the british airway's passengers. it's the first flight in week and many of them are americans stuck in various parts of europe for far too long. the police performed a rescue on the bay. check out the video as an injured crew remember was rescued. it happened yesterday morning at the annapolis anchorage south of the bay. she was part of a religious cult that starved her son because he wouldn't say amen after meals. she won't serve additional time behind bars. the judge suspended the rest of the prison sentence sending her to a treatment facility instead. she was brainwashed into stop feeding her son and her mother says her daughter still needs help. a baltimore postal worker is facing charges accused of stealing gift cards out of the mail. good morning, once again, andrea. good morning, don and everyone. it was at this branch that an employee would rip open pieces of mail. wjz spoke to one of the victims who had their gift card intended for a 3-year-old stolen. >> my daughter-in-law called me and said, you know the gift card you sent, we never got it. >> reporter: they were stunned to learn what happened to a 50- dollar gift card they sent to their granddaughter. the authorities believe it was stolen. >> and our 3 year old's birthday present. you must have been upset. >> yes, i was. >> the usps monitored the building sinsyne when 20 to 100 cards disappeared every night. authorities say in total, 1200 pieces of mail were ripped apart. we had to open the birthday card, he kept the card, it said happy birthday 3-year-old. >> and they gave the gift card number to investigators. and that information eventually lead them to the night superriser at the post office. the 51-year-old who lives in the area and he's been, whoing there for two years. >> it's just upsetting i can't buy a gift card and put it in the card and mail it for 44 cents. >> inside the car, investigators found 450 gift cards from coffee to groceries and clothes. after months, they caught him on camera stealing the cards. i thought, yes, they got him. >> and they're now sending gifts in bigger, better disguised envelopes. >> now, he won't hope that envelope. and it's not clear how much he allegedly stole. if convicted, he faces five years in prison. >> as of yet, the usps had no comment. the officials struck the 11th hour deal to keep a popular roller rink open. they'll keep their license and the owners must hire police officers to control the large crowds of teens on the weekends. in sports, break out the dust pan fen out search underway in the gulf of mexico for a dozen workers missing off of the coast of louisiana. here easter real brown -- here is terrell brown. >> there was an explosion off the of the bucks. 15 evacuated the platform. 11 workers are still missing. this man's family is praying he's safe. >> words can't describe knowing your son's out there. >> he and the others have the best chance at survival if they reached the lifeboat. >> we're continuing to serge. >> the rig is 40-miles off of the coast of louisiana. >> we don't know what caused the incidents. the efforts are concentrated on caring for the people. >> this is what the rig looked like before the accident. it's under lease by the british patrol members. many of the crew members will arrive here this morning rig is tilting and sinking and the coast guard says it's not in danger of capsizing. so far, the environmental threat is limited since the gas is burning rather than flowing into the gulf. any possibility of orleans. >> there was a university of college park student being beaten by the police, the school isn't turning over security cameras and a police officer found the footage and three minutes of it are talking about legal fees and online gaming. he's the senate budget chairman and at the center a. a federal investigation. a long losing streak continues for the orioles and the manager isn't mr. nice pressure. that hurts a lot of guys, they feel they need to live up to the expectations. you're just a rookie and you need to learn the games. it's didn't than in college. it's important for the coaches to say, don't worry about it. when you're ready, we'll put you in. >> they need to have a strong coach and organization and that could be a downfall for the player. >> and okay, so let's say, you're second, third and fourth. now, there's not the pressure, but there's the pressure of i'm a third, i have to make the team? >> well, i would rather have that pressure and the first rounder's money, but not the first rounder's pressure. that's why you see the guys. hike myself, i got to learn. that stuck with me for 15 years. you never feel like you're good enough or good enough to take a
