No delays have top two hours tonight a big hassle stemming from power failure. Brad sattin is live at 30th street station. What a mess, brad. Reporter guys, Train Service is still backed up at this hour. Still hours after all of this happened. This played out around 5 30 tonight. It started with couple loud banks and a flash someone then yelled fire and that led to shear panic it turns out there was no fire but this could have ended so much worse. Septa says it was breaker on the train running the Paoli Thorndale line that was tripped causing this unusual scene. But from the inside it sound like allowed bang an flash. It sounded like a mini explosion. The train came to immediate halt. Reporter that passenger says when it happened a second time, someone up front yelled fire and panic set in. There was no communication whatsoever by septa, and then people started pulling the windows out rubber seals around the window and jumping out of the car. Reporter that went people were on the tracks near 30th street during rush hour and with other trains on the move it forced the entire system in center city to shut down causing delays through the rest of the night. Our priority was to stop service until we can gather up those passengers. Reporter septa there was no fire and while theyre not sure what announcements were made to the 500 passengers or how quickly, there was never an announcement to leave. We dont evacuate anyone. Thats not eminent danger we dont evacuate until we have the proper personnel in mace and those personnel include Police Officers and transit superviso supervisors. Reporter passengers did eventually get back on the train and were transferred to another train more than an hour later. Watch your step going down, folks. As some now leave the battered island and aid is now heading in. Our Chris Oconnell traveled to puerto rico on a flight out of philadelphia. He is report his report starts tonight in san juan. Reporter hem is finally come to go puerto rico but it is slow and it is still a desperate and dire situation for many here in san juan especially here at the airport where theres a mini humanitarian crisis in and of itself. People have been here for three, four days, many without food. Many without water. The generators here on a backup system. So theres no airconditioning here at the airport. But tonight there are signs of relief and much of sit coming from philadelphia. Early this morning at philly international, American Airlines loaded up its second air bus 330 with relief supplies for the people of puerto rico. Today alone the airline hauled 111,000 pounds of generators, pallets of water, diapers and food. Supplies all bound for san juan. All passengers to san juan. Reporter its not just supplies but people, too. This was one of the first flights back to the hurricane ravaged island. Many dont know what theyll be going home to. Once in san juan tears the first images we saw touching down. Devastation is widespread. Much of the airport still in shambles. Half of the island has no Drinking Water. And most of puerto ricos three and a half Million People are still without power. People like jose rivera. People around us were just looking for water, food, anything that they can find to eat, drink. Reporter Salvation Army philadelphia also dispatched a team to san juan for some it was the first relief theyve seep to their island. Tonight san juan airport is nothing short of chaos. Thousands of passengers desperate to leave or left waiting in stifling heat. Theres little food or water. In fact we brought a suitcase full of tastykakes to hand out to stranded travelers who havent eaten. A week after maria hit, some wonder why its taking so long for help to arrive. I think people on the mainland in the United States really understand whats going on on the ground here . Not at all. No one could undersand this. The number of flights leaving puerto rico has now doubled to 18 tonight which means more much needed supplies are headed to the island where patience is running thin. Puerto rico is destroyed completely destroyed as worse ever down there. We need everything. Most of the puerto rico still has no power. Water, food or gas. People on the island say the help isnt getting to them soon enough. Pretty bad. They dont bring food. They dont bring nothing. Serve dying of hunger white house admits its hard. They lock down the store, put out a description of the missing person over the loud speaker system, and call police. It is very rare that someone presents with a classic signs and symptoms. She was so good at that she was hired to run a Cooking Program at the 11th Street Family Services clinic. She even got her fiance mark beckham working to drop his meds, too.
