Deputies Investigating ‘Swatting Incident’ In Santa Clarita After False 9-1-1 Call
Deputies are investigating a “swatting incident” in Santa Clarita after a false report was made that two people were stabbed Thursday.
Around 2 p.m. Thursday, first responders received reports of a stabbing in the 28000 block of Robin Avenue in Saugus, said Lt. Jonathan Hoyt, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
When deputies arrived on scene they learned no stabbing occurred, and no one at the residence called 9-1-1, according to Sheriff’s officials.
The reported Saugus stabbing is now being investigating as a “swatting incident,” Hoyt said.
Man Arrested After Threatening Family Member With Firearm In Santa Clarita
A man was taken into custody Thursday evening after he allegedly threatened a family member with a firearm in Santa Clarita, officials said.
Around 7 p.m. Thursday, deputies received reports of an assault with a deadly weapon on Edgeview Place in Canyon Country, according to Lt. James Royal with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“A son threatened a family member with a weapon,” Royal said. “A 27-year-old with a gun is allegedly under investigation.”
The suspect was taken into custody on assault with a deadly weapon charges shortly after deputies arrived, according to Royal.
Drunk Man Arrested After Throwing Object At Deputy Vehicle In Santa Clarita
A drunk man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly threw an object at a deputy’s vehicle in Santa Clarita.
Around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy traveling northbound on Sand Canyon near Lost Canyon Roads in Canyon Country observed a man walking on the sidewalk throwing an unknown object at his patrol vehicle, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“The deputy parked his vehicle and detained the male pending further investigation,” Arriaga said.

While speaking with the detained individual, the deputy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath and person, according to Sheriff’s officials.

video posted to their social media pages, Deputy Chad Perrigo is seen being wheeled out of the hospital, seen smiling at the deputies who stood by to give him a procession of claps and support.
On April 28, fellow deputies responded shortly before 7:30 a.m. to Creekside Road after receiving word that Perrigo, a motorcycle deputy, had been involved in a traffic collision with an 18-wheeler. “(The) semi-truck, 18-wheeler, did a left-hand turn right in front and failed to yield for the oncoming traffic, the motorcycle. It was a head-on collision,” said Sheriff Alex Villanueva in a video posted on the Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page the same day as the crash. “It’s going to be a long road to recovery and our thoughts and prayers to him and his family.”
