Health Dept announces numerous walk-in COVID vaccine clinics

The Tompkins County Health Department is alerting the community of several upcoming COVID-19 vaccination clinics. Tompkins County continues to be a leader in New York State for both high vaccination rates and low infection rates. Vaccine is readily available in Tompkins County and TCHD urges all individuals aged 12+ to get vaccinated. Tompkins County Public Health Director Frank Kruppa stated, “We have vaccine widely available in our community and our goal is to make it accessible and convenient for anyone who is eligible and wants to get vaccinated. The vaccines are safe and effective, and now, very available. There are multiple options for how to get vaccinated here in Tompkins County.”

The Tompkins County Health Department is alerting the community to the continued easing of pandemic-related restrictions in New York State. Tompkins County is adopting New York State guidance. Tompkins County continues to be a leader in New York State for both high vaccination rates and low infection rates. TCHD continues to urge the community to closely follow public health guidance related to the easing of restrictions and for all individuals aged 12+ to get vaccinated. Effective May 19, New York State and Tompkins County will adopt CDC guidance stating that fully vaccinated individuals no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in most settings. Consistent with the CDC guidance, Pre-K to 12 schools, public transit, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, nursing homes, and healthcare settings will continue to follow State s existing COVID-19 health guidelines including distancing and mask wearing until more New Yorkers are fully vaccinated.

Walk-in COVID vaccine clinic May 18 for anyone 18+

The Tompkins County Health Department, in partnership with Cayuga Health System, is announcing a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at the Shops at Ithaca Mall – Old Sears Building on Tuesday, May 18 from 8:15am - 3:00pm. This is a walk-in clinic for anyone 18 years and older. Ithaca Mall (40 Catherwood Rd.) Tuesday, May 18, 8:15am - 3:00pm J&J (18 and older) Walk-ins only, no appointment required.

(WHCU) – With the Pfizer vaccine receiving authorization for use in people ages 12 and older by the FDA and the State of New York, the Tompkins County Health Department has put together a vaccination clinic to serve the newly expanded population of eligible individuals. Appointments are available at the Shops at Ithaca Mall Saturday, May 22nd from 9 AM to 1 PM for anyone 12 and older to get their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Minors under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian to provide consent. You can make an appointment online at the Tompkins County Health Department website, or by dialing 211 if you need additional assistance.
