Men's Lacrosse: Buckeyes Shoot Down Falcons, 12-4

Efficient. For all of the struggles of the early season, today's win can be summed up perfectly by that one word. Ohio State methodically poured it on Air Force like all of Nick Myers' best teams. Picking spots, dominating the faceoff, good defense, and slowly squeezing the life out of teams. That's the recipe for Buckeye success under Nick Myers, and it's really a thing of beauty when everything comes together. It just hasn't come together all that often.

Men's Lacrosse: 2024 Preview

Greetings and salutations, 11W. It’s been a long time since I last posted a lengthy, lacrosse focused bit on here. Lots of life changes led to the delay, but I’m going to pick things up as best I can. Ohio State’s men’s lacrosse team officially scrimmages another team on January 27", so time is running short. There’s a whole lot to get into, with coaching changes, personnel changes (heads up: this is a whole new team), and a much rougher schedule than is advisable with the unknown...

Men's Lacrosse: Roster Drop

When it rains it pours. Almost 24 hours after posting a preview for the 2025 recruiting class, the Buckeyes FINALLY dropped their fall roster. And it is... something. The final count was somewhat a mystery, but it looks like the Buckeyes have 24 (!) first year players. That's half the flipping roster. I am just aghast. The scary part is that there are another 10 players who are upperclassmen without any meaningful minutes on this roster. Which means the staff couldn't find more suitabl...

Men's Lacrosse: 2023 Postmortem

Some weeks after the end of an absolutely brutal season, with a blood-rage subsiding enough to form coherent thoughts, it is time. The postmortem of the 2023 Ohio State men’s lacrosse season needs to be posted for the easing of my mind. And so much has happened since April that a recap is in order. The real junkies mentioned that women’s lacrosse was in a rough spot, and that Amy Bokker might be feeling the heat. I paid marginal attention to the women’s season, but those predictions proved...

Men's Lacrosse: Big Red Defeat Bucks, 16-13

The scoreline flatters Ohio State tremendously as the Buckeyes were bested in nearly every facet of the game today. Cornell was dominant from the jump, racing out to a 9-3 halftime lead. Ohio State allowed 60 shots, 31 shots on goal, committed 20 turnovers, only generated 39 shots of their own, and was down at least 4 goals after Q1 until the final minute of the game. This was a beating, even if the scoreline doesn't show it.

Men's Lacrosse: Buckeyes Conquer Vikes, 19-12

On a day when the old guard mostly took a back seat, it was a sophomore starter who lit the lamp over and over again. Ed Shean showed his mettle in a real game after dominating in fall, scoring 5 goals and dishing out an assist to pace all Buckeyes in scoring. Shean went 5-7 shooting the ball, which will definitely get it done, and stepped up at a time where Ohio State's offense is still in limbo. Dillon Magee, a vaunted freshman, also managed 2 goals and an assist today, really making a na...
