Samsung to offer 150 scholarships for technology students in India Wednesday 16 December 2020 | 04:18 CET | News Samsung has announced it will offer 150 scholarships to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya students starting a full term course in an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or a National Institute of Technology (NIT) for academic year 2020/21, under the 5th edition of its Star Scholar programme. Each year, Samsung offers scholarships to outstanding students from JNVs who pursue full term courses from these engineering colleges. The application period for the academic year 2020/21 is open until 5 January 2021.

With a view to meet the shortfall in trained and skilled cybersecurity personnel in the country, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur has decided to introduce three new master s programs in cybersecurity in addition to a dedicated centre for the discipline.
These programs are designed to address the need of cybersecurity personnel by ensuring training of dedicated and highly skilled manpower, thus furthering and accelerating the nation s march towards a Digital India, an official statement by the institute said.

The total number of cases on the IIT Madras campus is now 191, while six out of 550 persons tested at Anna University were positive for the infection, TN Health Secretary J. Radhakrishnan said
Eight more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras), taking the total number of cases on campus to 191. All persons at the hostels including workers were tested, Health Secretary J. Radhakrishnan, said, following an inspection at IIT Madras on Wednesday. At Anna University, only six persons out of the 550 tested were found to be positive for the infection, he said.

Mr Gehlot said, the strides that India has made in the fields of information technology resulting in a digital revolution is because of the vision and thoughts of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Chennai: Seventy nine more people have tested positive for coronavirus on the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras campus here, taking the tally in the institution to 183, a senior health official said on Tuesday.
Out of the 978 samples lifted from the IIT-M since December 1, a total of 183 people have tested positive till date and results for 25 specimens alone were yet to be received, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary, J Radhakrishnan said.
