Flint parolee charged in Oakland County pharmacy heists
A 27-year-old Flint parolee is in custody and has been charged in a series of pharmacy armed robberies in Oakland County.
Marcel Marquaveon Hinkle was arrested Feb. 4 by the FBI Oakland County Violent Crimes Task Force following a multi-agency investigation of similar drug store holdups since January. Hinkle was paroled in November for serving a partial prison sentence for armed robbery.
According to investigators Hinkle is believed the man responsible for armed robberies which occurred in several communities in Oakland and Genesee counties, between Jan. 19-31.
“I am extremely proud of the team effort of all the agencies involved to bring this clearly dangerous serial armed robber to justice,” said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. “Hopefully, this time, he will stay behind bars and not threaten the public again.”
The FBI Oakland County Gang and Violent Crime Task Force assisted the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office in investigating nine armed robberies, which occurred in Oakland and Genesee counties, between Jan.

A man described by police as a âserial armed robbery suspectâ has been charged in connection with numerous incidents in Oakland and Genesee counties.
Following an investigation by the Oakland County Sheriffâs Office, the FBI Oakland County Gang and Violent Crime Task Force, the Fenton Police Department and multiple others, 27-year-old Marcel Hinkle of Flint was taken into custody without incident on February 4th.
Heâs tied to several armed robberies that occurred between January 19th and 31st. Hinkle was previously convicted of felony armed robbery and felony concealed weapons charges. He was discharged from prison in November and was on parole at the time of his arrest. Hinkle is accused of attempted armed robbery on January 23rd at the Walgreens at 3270 West Silver Lake Road in the City of Fenton.

9-year-old boy critically injured after dad tows sled into back of car in Oakland County, police say

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI - A 9-year-old boy is in critical condition after slamming into the back of a parked car in a Rochester Hills sledding incident, police said.
Deputies with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and the Rochester Hills Fire Department responded to a report of an injured child at 1:16 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6 to the 2100 block of Somerville Road.
Initial investigation discovered that a 37-year-old Royal Oak man visiting relatives was driving a 2009 Jeep Wrangler with the boy, his son, in tow on a plastic sled, per an Oakland County Sheriff’s Office news release.
